 PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE'S 2003 BEST OF PHILLY©
HOT DOG EXPERIENCE -TEXAS WIENERS
The grilled dogs at this South Philly greasy spoon taste great with just a little mustard. But what's worth a special trip are the wieners with the works - grilled dogs smothered in onions, mustard, and sweet/sour sauce made from a top-secret recipe.
THE JOINT IS JUMPIN'!!!
The oldies are playing in the background and the atmosphere is filled with activity and excitment and it's all due to the new ownership and management of Russell and Theresa Viggiano. Something new and fresh is definitely happening here.
Texas Wieners has been a landmark located at 1426 Snyder Avenue for the last 80 years. Founded in 1923 by Greek immigrants, it has not only remained constant to its specialized menu rich with flavor but has also remained rich in tradition. Even under new management, you will see the same familiar faces at the grill as they continue to carry on the same amazing traditions of "The Greeks". Watching them top off the wieners as they are lined up the length of their arms is truly a sight to see.
TIME DOES FLY WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN...
Well, it really is true - time does fly when you're having fun - just ask Russell and Theresa Viggiano. It's been over a year now that Texas Wieners has been under their ownership and management and though they have been hard at work, they're having a blast doing it!
One of the most exciting events this past year when Texas Wieners was named Philadelphia Magazine's 2003 Best of Philly© for their outstanding hot dogs.

HOT DOGS
WITH PEDIGREE
This town is lukewarm about its hot dogs, but some fine Philly franks will make you sit up and beg.
